Have We Got News For You
Brilliant for team building days, our take on the BBC's long-running news quiz puts your colleagues in the spotlight! Find out if the group has what it takes to write, direct and star in their own original TV show.
Participants will feel the heat of working in a fast-paced news environment. Quick thinking, planning, time management, team work and coordination are all vital to get the show on the road.
Good for groups small and large, Have You Got News for Us is an incredibly illuminating experience! Find out who naturally takes the leadership role, who is happier behind the scenes and who wants to shine like a Paul Merton or an Ian Hislop.
How does it work?
We supply all the AV equipment, props and costumes for Have You Got News for Us. The creative and planning elements are up to the participants!
Our events coordinators will split the group into teams, brief everyone and run the event. However; the onus is firmly up to teams to put the show together.
This is a hands-on team building activity with roles for everyone.
Teams will be given three headlines and an advert to create and film within a strict deadline. They'll need to get their collective skates on to complete the task. There are no extended deadlines in the world of broadcast TV!
Our events coordinators can personalise the event if you wish. We often find that the inclusion of one topic which is related to a company-specific message or conference theme creates awareness, reinforces salient points and helps to boost morale.
The event finishes with a grand screening. The results will be judged by our panel and the winning team awarded an Oscar!
Alternatively, the screening can be used as part of the evening entertainment at your corporate event.
What are the benefits of this team building activity?
Have You Got News for Us is all about using team work principles to achieve a common goal in an unusual environment. It's also an excellent way to manage resistance to change; teams will be using their old skills whilst developing new ones to complete a task that's a little different from the norm. Teams will realise the importance of individual member roles, develop time management skills and have fun!
