Movie Creation

All team members will come under the spotlight during Movie Creation! We've put together a fun and imaginative team building activity with essential roles for everyone. Get the creative juices flowing and recreate a dramatic scene from a famous Hollywood movie to a tight deadline using only the props and equipment provided.

Effective team work is a must to ensure the results are a big hit with our discerning film director and his crew! The director is a demanding soul with high standards so teams will need to pull out all the stops to earn the nod of approval.

How does it work?

Movie Creation starts with a briefing from our colourful film director! Teams will be asked to pick golden envelopes which contain details of the scene they must create. Our events coordinators will provide copies of the movies in question. Each falls into a different film genre.

Options include:

• Monty Python and the Holy Grail
• Where Eagles Dare
• The Mummy
• Oliver
• Lord of the Rings
• James Bond
• Shrek

There's more to Movie Creation than simply creating a number of random scenes from memorable movies. We've enhanced the team building characteristics of this activity by stipulating that each scene must feature a link at the end for the next team. Communication is key!

The aim is to create one movie using different scenes that link seamlessly together.

Before filming commences, each team must allocate roles. The task requires a director, head of props, camera man and of course - a leading lady or man! Not to mention a team of extras. Each member of the team must appear in the scene at least once.

The director and his crew will be watching throughout and taking notes! Which group will display the best team work skills? Points will be awarded and deducted accordingly from each team's final score.

When the scenes are ready, it's time for the main event - the screening. Our panel of judges will cast a critical eye over the results and the director will announce the results at the awards ceremony.

We find the screening works really well as part of the evening entertainment at corporate events. Acceptance speeches and hankies at the ready - it could get emotional!

What are the team building benefits of this activity?

Effective communication, team work and time management are at the core of this fun but challenging activity. Teams will need to recognise and use the skills and talents of their individual members to achieve success. Movie Creation is also a good way to illustrate the importance of the bigger picture and create awareness of the vital roles of other teams within an organisation.
