Sorcerers Apprentice
Harry Potter meets It's a Knockout in Sorcerer's Apprentice, our most imaginative team building event! Teams will compete in a series of creative challenges and games that require collaboration, quick thinking and time management. Spark the competitive spirit in a fun environment and get teams working together to achieve a common goal.
Huge obstacles, daft costumes and head-scratching puzzles are the order of the day!
Failure to complete the challenges will weaken each team.
We supply the props, equipment and costumes but it's up to the teams to use their team work principles to conquer the challenges and defeat the dastardly Lord Foldemort!
How does it work?
Our events coordinators will welcome everyone and brief them on the event scenario.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice returns to Pigwarts to discover his integrity has been challenged by Foldemort. Furthermore, changes have been made to the Defence of the Dark Arts program. This will never do! The new students of Pigwarts must complete a number of challenges to restore peace and harmony - and pass their first year with flying colours.
The whole group is split into houses; the ultimate aim is to successfully complete all the challenges outlined below and find the 28 Dark Arts members before the end of the event. Each challenge has a time limit so quick thinking, collaboration and effective use of individual team member talents is essential.
Giant Gobstones
Jacks meets zorbing in one madcap game! One team member enters the zorb and the others roll it as close as possible to the jack to score a point. Drop a point and opposing teams will pop up with water pistols. Can the participating team avoid a super soaking?
Human Chess
Team members in costume take the place of chess pieces in this life-sized version of the classic game of strategy.
Cole Reevey's Camera
Help Cole Reevey retrieve his cameras from the top of a wall. This team building exercise may sound simple but it's more challenging than you might think! Teams must race against time to retrieve as many cameras until the whistle blows.
Screenshots
Every team member has a role to play in screenshots, an exercise that's great for testing delegation skills. They must recreate scenes from the game (such as spell casting) and capture them on camera. They must be authentic! Costumes and props are a must.
Bumbledore's Interview
Teams must create an enticing advert for their respective houses using the props, costumes, equipments and cameras supplied by our event coordinators. The winner's will be awarded extra points.
We've added a multi-tasking element to Sorcerer's Apprentice. Whilst the teams are completing the challenges, they will also be keeping an eye out for the 28 Dark Arts members. The clues are hidden around the venue but will the teams notice them?
What are the team building benefits of this activity?
Sorcerer's Apprentice is a great way to:
- Illustrate the importance of team communication
- Develop problem solving skills
- Teach collaboration and delegation techniques
- Illustrate the value of team work in organisations
- Encourage competition in a fun environment
