Sticks Strings Blindfolds and Things

A classic conference energiser that will get all delegates participating, Sticks, Strings, Blindfolds & Things uses simple objects to bond groups fast. We've created a whole host of quick and effective team work challenges that will motivate groups and make them think about the ways in which they work.

How does it work?

Sticks, Strings, Blindfolds & Things starts with a couple of fun ice breaker activities to relax delegates and prepare them for the tasks ahead. The ice breakers also give our events coordinators the chance to ensure teams are created randomly, therefore maximising the opportunities for networking.

When the teams have been created, the real fun begins!

Each team will take part in the following challenges. Each will break down barriers and reveal what can be achieved with by communication, collaboration and cooperation.

Human Slip Knot

The whole team must work together to create one giant slip knot without breaking the chain. Simple! To make things more challenging, our events coordinators will introduce coloured bands into the chain. The team will have to work in harmony to pass two bands around the knot in opposite directions without breaking the chain.

Caning It

Using a selection of canes and elastic bands, teams will be asked to turn over a container and place an object inside. This team building tasks seems deceptively simple at first glance but the results are frustrating and hilarious in equal measures!

Robots

Teams are split into trios for this communication-based challenge. One is the robot, one the speaker and the other person takes the role of the communicator. They must work together to collect objects from random locations.

Human Sheep Herding

One member of the team takes the role of shepherd and must herd his blindfolded 'sheep' into the pen. A great test of leadership and communication skills.

Alpha Bodies

Teams can work as single units or join forces with other groups to create letters of the alphabet.

Shape Sorter

Discover if teams can use their problem solving smarts to figure out how to fit a square peg into a round hole!
