Enter the Dragons Lair
Searching for team building challenges that put entrepreneurial skills to the test? If so, Enter the Dragon's Lair will fit the bill. Our version of the hit reality business TV show Dragon's Den is a fun but demanding event that requires ingenuity, cooperation, creativity, practicality and time management.
Teams will be tasked with creating original, cutting edge inventions and pitching them to our panel of hard-headed dragons!
Will the teams be able to convince our business 'gurus' that their products are worth investing in?
The dragons are prepared to invest up to £100k so pitches need to be impressive!
How does it work?
Each team will be briefed on the task and given a tight budget to stick to.
Our events coordinators will throw open the doors of the gadget shop and teams will be given the chance to buy all the items they feel will help them to create useful but state-of-the-art inventions. These must be ingenious but also suitable for everyday use.
After the items have been selected, each group will put their heads together and decide on the design of their invention. Good team work is a must as different skills will be needed to design the product, market it, create a business plan, decide on a retail cost and stay within budget! It's all about cooperation and effective use of individual strengths.
When the inventions are ready, it's time for the teams to make their pitch.
Our dragons are leaders in their fields and have vast personal fortunes. Teams will need strong pitches to impress these gurus!
The dragons may include:
- Tyrone Pirelli - the tyre king!
- Mike Rosoft - what this guy doesn't know about computer software isn't worth knowing
- Mark Spencer - a high street fashion retailer with an eye for what's hot and what's not
The pitches must be interactive, make an impact and cover all aspects of the invention. The dragons are renowned for asking tricky questions so teams will need to be totally prepared, think quickly and give succinct answers.
Following some deliberation, the dragons will announce their decision...

Enter the Dragon's Lair has numerous team building benefits. Entrepreneurs need to possess a number of skills to be successful and this activity is a great way to develop them. In addition to time management, budgeting, creativity and quick thinking, teams will also need to be able to demonstrate their knowledge of current market trends. What sells right now? Are fingers on pulses? In order to secure investment, teams will need to convince our dragons of the saleability of their products in today's competitive market.
