Street Beats
Break down barriers and bond teams with Street Beats, an innovative dance-based team building activity that will take everyone out of their comfort zones! Individuals will learn numerous new skills, gain confidence, and reaffirm their sense of team spirit with our dedicated dance workshop.
It's not simply a case of learning a few nifty moves. Working in teams, delegates will be set dance-based tasks to complete in a set period of time.
It doesn't matter if some team members have two left feet. The aim is to boost confidence, embrace new ideas and share a fun experience with colleagues. It's a great way to teach the importance of team work and get individuals to discover ways in which their current approach to work could be improved.
How does it work?
Following a quick warm-up, our dance instructor will teach groups sassy dance moves made popular by familiar groups such as Diversity and Flawless from Britain's Got Talent.
When delegates are familiar with the basics of street dance, they will be put into teams for the tasks section.
Tasks include:
- Choreography Manipulation - creative collaboration is the key to this task. Teams will create a new routine based on one they have just learned using their new choreography manipulation techniques
- Movement Development - one team member is tasked with creating a personal interpretation of a movement and teaching it to the rest of the team
- Team Performance - all teams come together and collaborate as one big group to create a piece of choreography for the final performance
What are the team building benefits of this activity?
Street Beats is a great way to:
- Illustrate the importance of team communication
- Teach collaboration techniques
- Develop leadership skills

- Illustrate the value of team work in organisations
