Bringing people together for a knockout cause

When Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People wanted to bring people together for a fundraising event, they knew they wanted something that would get people stuck in, having fun and, most importantly, raising money for an incredible cause. They turned to Off Limits to make it happen.

Rainbows first got in touch with our team back in 2020, and over the past six years we’ve built a strong relationship with the charity, working closely with the team across their events.
For this year’s fundraiser, we hosted one of our most recognisable team building events: It’s A Knockout.

It’s a favourite for a reason. Big inflatables, plenty of competition and challenges that get everyone involved, whether they’re taking part or cheering from the sidelines. And as the official owners of the original It’s s Knockout event, we can give teams the authentic experience and bring the original event to life.

The objective
Rainbows wanted to give their guests an experience they’d genuinely enjoy, while raising as much money as possible to support children and young people with life-shortening conditions. That meant getting the balance right; creating an event people would be excited to take part in, while making sure the charity’s budget went as far as possible. Having worked with Rainbows for six years, we already understood how important that balance was.

The solution
We worked closely with the Rainbows team throughout the planning and delivery of the event, taking care of every detail and making sure everything was ready to go on the day.
It’s a Knockout definitely brought the energy. Teams went head-to-head across the inflatables, taking on a series of challenges that put teamwork, competitiveness and a drive to get stuck in to the test. There was plenty of cheering from the other guests too, as teams battled it out to come out on top.

Our event managers were on hand throughout the day to keep the competition moving, get teams fired up and make sure everyone knew what they were doing. Their enthusiasm and energy helped turn the challenges into a community experience, getting people cheering, competing and throwing themselves into the event together.

But delivering a great event was only part of it. We wanted to help Rainbows get as much value from the day as possible, so we reduced our costs and offered the best possible rates, allowing the charity to put more budget towards its fundraising efforts. We also supported with social media promotion, helping Rainbows spread the word and encourage more people to get involved.

From the initial planning through to event delivery, our team took care of the details behind the scenes, giving the Rainbows team more time to focus on their guests and most importantly, raising money for an incredible cause.

The result
The event was a huge success, with fantastic feedback from the Rainbows team.
Melany Bodaly, Rainbows Children’s Hospice, said:
“The set-up was amazing, and the communication throughout was fantastic. Off Limits handled everything for us, making the whole process seamless. They even supported with cross-promotion on social media, helping us generate more awareness and engagement around the event.”

For us, this was another high-impact experience delivered for a charity we’ve been proud to work alongside for the past six years. The day gave Rainbows a brilliant way to engage its supporters, while our wider support helped the charity make more of its budget and reach more people with its fundraising message.

A partnership built over six years
Our relationship with Rainbows has grown well beyond that first enquiry in 2020.
Over the past six years, we’ve continued to support the team with their fundraising events, always looking for ways to add value and support them beyond simply delivering the activity.

For Rainbows, that means knowing they can turn to Off Limits time and time again; with an experienced event partner who takes care of the detail, makes the budget work harder and delivers an experience people genuinely want to be part of.
